Great trip last Saturday and Calendar Events Updated

Thank you to all of the 18 Ladies who paddled the North Fork of Elkhorn Creek with us last week. It was a beautiful Spring Saturday afternoon as we started paddling at Great Crossings Park at 4PM. Who would have known that we would paddle up stream (against a significant current) for 1 1/2 hours and it would only take us 30 minutes to return!! It was so nice for a first trip for all of us. Some new "Sisters" joined us, and some of the oldies but goodies returned from last Fall. Even Alana stayed true to being late, but started 2009 by not getting lost!! If she did, she did not tell us! We had our littlest Sister join the group, Kelsey! We hope you had a wonderful time.

Afterwards, we ate at Just Stixx for some healthy, but very good food. The conversations were as good as the food was. Thank you Ladies for starting off my 2009 paddling season with a terrific first trip!

The 2009 schedule has been released through June 11, 2009. The Elkhorn Creek and the Kentucky River trips will be water level dependant since it is Spring and early Summer, we don't want to be out paddling on water that is too high for us!! I will send out emails to the group the Tuesday before our Thursday paddle trip to say yea or nay!!

I look forward to paddling with my Sisters this summer!! Look out streams, here we come!!

Trip Planning Meeting: Thursday, February 12 6pm

Hello Friendly Paddling Divas!

We have rescheduled our 2009 Trip Planning Meeting for this Thursday, February 12 at 6:00pm at bd's Mongolian Grill in Hamburg Shopping Center in Lexington, Kentucky. The reservation is under Canoe Kentucky. Bring your calendars, desired trip routes, so we can start planning our paddling adventures! Every female is welcome, if you have a friend, bring her... the more the merrier!! I met several ladies at the Louisville Boat RV Show so we may have new faces show up!

Look forward to seeing everyone there! If you need directions, please call me.

2009 Trip Planning Meeting and Dinner

Hey Ladies! We have a meeting scheduled for this upcoming Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 6:00pm until 8:30pm or so. We will meet at Common Grounds Coffee House 343 East High Street Lexington KY 40507, you can go to their website for info www.commongroundsoflexington.com.
Bring your calendars so we can get our 2009 paddling trips scheduled. We will also plan some hiking trips as well.

The Common Grounds Coffeehouse also has sandwiches, wraps, etc for dinner. I will bring a DVD on Recreational Paddling with me for us to watch!

Hope to see everyone there! For those of you traveling from Frankfort, we can meet at Kroger parking lot on the East side of town at 5:15pm. Please email me if you plan to carpool.
